Do It Yourself Family Law

We understand that not everyone wants to hire a lawyer.  Lawyers are expensive.  And sometimes your case is so straightforward you don’t need a lawyer.  We also understand that family law is confusing and finding the right court forms to complete can be challenging.

If you’ve ever tried to file family law documents on your own, there’s a decent chance your documents were rejected because the court employees are very strict in terms of what documents must be filed and when they have to be filed.  There are strict deadlines you must meet.  Otherwise, your case could be voided.

We understand that you just need some help figuring out the correct forms to file, how to fill them out, and an experienced lawyer to make sure they are properly completed.  That’s why The Aberdeen Law Firm offers a Do It Yourself Package.

For $399 per month paid over the course of two months, we will do the following for you:

• Have a 30 minute discovery phone call where we talk about your case and which forms need to be completed and answer any questions you have.
• The lawyer will send you the forms you need to complete.
• You will complete the forms on your own and send back to the lawyer.
• The lawyer will then have a final phone call to make any revisions to the documents you completed and answer any final questions.

Note: you are responsible for the filing fees, which vary depending on the kind of case you have.  You will not be formally hiring a lawyer from the firm and the lawyer will not be entering a notice of appearance with the court stating you are represented by the firm.
